Bolverk, I think you'd enjoy life in Singapore. I share some of the same concerns but I really don't think Obama will pull our country too far to the left. He's smarter than that. In his book, The Audacity of Hope, there is a telling chapter where he describes the failing of both extremes. I think he will govern somewhat closer to the middle. It's not completely Obama I'm worried about--although he does play a role in my concerns (since he has the power to sign the bills). I'm more worried about Pelosi, and Reed. My issue with Obama is that he is way too far on the left to turn down the tinfoil crowd (Pelosi, Reed). Obama isn't going to block Pelosi and Reed's agenda, IMO. I'm betting Feinswine is already preparing a bill for her goal (as she said on 60 minutes, a complete gun ban, everyone turn them in).

You're saying Obama's tax plan is very extreme but it is the same as Bill Clinton's. Was Bill Clinton THAT extreme? On some issues. He was one of the most anti-gun presidents EVER. Read: Brady Bill He seemed extreme on kissing UN butt (although I admit this is more subjective and I cannot prove it). Having said this, the three stooges are going to make Clinton look like a centralist!

A new AWB by the Divine Ms Di has been on the back burner since the first one sunset. I had been emailing her office around then urging her to not press to extend it (yeah, like that would go anywhere), and asked about rumors I had read about a new version that wouldn't sunset and that would make things like the 1866 yellow boy "assault weapons." I received a draft of it (by mistake I think) and yeah, it made the last one look good. Unfortunately, about a month after I got it our hard drive and mother board went tits up. I have since asked several times for a new copy of it and have been met with stone walling and denial that it exists. Yep. and the check is in the mail, she won't c** in my mouth, and will respect me in the morning.

I think I might consider moving to the Philippines for the rest of my life. Regardless of how bad it gets, I won't play the Streisand card (threatening to leave the country when idiots get elected). Instead, I'll do whatever I can to encourage people to vote these stooges out of office in 4 years. Chances are things will be so bad in 4 years that moderates/centralists will again want change and the tides will reverse. Both major parties are so -'d up that they are destined for failure.

These are my predictions for the next 4-8 years of the Obama-Pelosi-Reed regime... Economic goodies we have to look forward to, IMO: 1. Higher taxes. I don't think either the 95% figure or 250k figure will hold once he has keys to the office. Based on his tax and spend agenda and voting record, I predict those making as little as 50k will see their taxes rise eventually. 2. More job loss and higher costs. The higher corporate taxes will create higher job loss, and the companies will pass the taxes on to the consumer with higher prices. 3. Huge amounts of spending 4. Huge government, nanny state Social goodies under this regime: 1. First admendment will be severely infringed. It's no longer going to be accepted to challenge or ridicule this regime. People will be investigated for any negative opinion of this regime. 2. Second admendment will be toast. It will erode in steps, not all at once. a. They'll start off creating a Brady Bill II -- this time it will be permanent b. Next, they'll pass a .50 cent - 1$ per round ammo tax -- which will make legal gun ownership expensive for the poor. c. Then, Semi-auto ban d. Then, Revolver ban e. Then, Complete handgun ban f. Repeater ban (including pumps, bolt actions, etc) g. Centerfire ban h. Rimfire ban 3. Other social rights will be next. An unarmed society are not citizens, but rather subjects. Global goodies under Obama-Pelosi-Reed 1. Negotiations with Hugo Chavez and friends. These poorly misunderstood folks were probably abused as kids, and just need to be reasoned with. Obama will charm Hugo and friends into submission. 2. Flying a UN flag... we're going to be their bitch Subdjoe and fellow libertarians, what other goodies have I missed? Well, I guess taxes are a given. You can thank a Republican administration for that. Democrats in the past have had to fix it, be the monster and reduce the deficit and this one is a doozy. I'm shocked you don't already notice the lack of jobs now. Last night, Gov. Arnold will be pushing for a tax hike in Ca. and this is under Bush. I am curious why you place gun rights you think you will lose, as a social goodie? Personally, I agree with saunterelle, it won't be that bad. If you were fine in the Clinton era, you'll be ok.

The 2A is a societal right, but perhaps it falls under a better category? Organization is not my strong point. Nobody said we were fine in the Clinton regime. Clinton attacked the 2A more than most presidents. It's only going to get worst with the three stooges controlling all checks and balances. The Governator is a RINO IMO, in the same vane as Bush. Neither are conservatives, and both have socialist tendencies. Just because they own an "R" by their name does not make them conservatives. I vote for what I perceive as the right candidate, regardless of party. I wouldn't have any issue voting for a solid blue dog Democrat that supported small government... there just are not that many in THIS state. I can only hope that there is enough in the house, from other states, that are willing to stand up and vote against Pelosi, Reed, and Obama's nanny state agenda. I wouldn't vote for the Governator or Schrub if either was the only person running! I'm also not going to be voting McCain, because he is a little too trigger happy for my tastes.

That is not why I am considering it. I am considering it because I am tired of the cat calls people put out calling others racist because they won't vote for Obama. I am sick to death of this bullshit, it is really starting to piss me off to no end.

You are an ignorant buffoon. You don't know crap about history. Taxes were created permanently in 1913 under Woodrow Wilson, a Democrat, with a Senate Democrat majority of 53.1% and a House majority of 66.9%, so tell me again how it is Republicans who are responsible for making taxes a given?

No wonder The Big Dog does not want to post anymore. How do you get through to people with such a high level of ignorance where their own history is concerned?
