(well, until the progressives need it as a tool again)
Yep, we got ourselves an honest to god BLACK President-elect. Jesse and Al can close up shop and get real jobs. Racism is a dead issue now and we can get past it.

Jesse Jackson's tears at the Obamapalooza last night in Chicago were not tears of joy. They were tears of sorrow as Jesse's days of being a race baiting green mailer are rapidly drawing to a close.
Hard to argue that blacks don't get a fair shake when one has been elected to the presidency, after all.
No wonder Jesse said he wanted cut Barack's nuts off in an unguarded moment a couple months back.

I remember that and it was one of the first thoughts I had when I saw him crying.

i don't recall jesse crying when colin powell was selected as sec'y of state. i don't recall any tears when condi rice rose to that position. no tears when clarence thomas was confirmed for SCOTUS. not even a whimper because althought they were truly black they weren't the right flavor of black. i.e., they weren't liberal dems.

But I bet, just like Barack, Jesse wanted to cut their nuts off...... especially Condi Rice since it's pretty apparent she packs a much bigger pair than Jesse himself can muster.

And your point is what? That there are idiots in the US?
Somehow McCain or Palin or Pres Bush being hanged or burned in effigy by supporters of The Obama isn't racist. McCain supporters having their houses and cars spray painted with things like Bigot or Racist or Cracker don't seem to be racist or hate crimes. Blacks saying to whites "now it's our turn" isn't racist. Yep, only whites are racist in the US, I guess.
Thank you for supporting my parenthetical comment, racism is dead until the left needs it again.

This country is LOADED full of idiots, no arguments here.
I am curious, do you think McCain and Palin felt the same amount of racial hate as Obama, and now that Obama has won racism is "dead" toward the black community?
What struck me for the first time is actually the black community in some ways has been more flexible,(hang on, don't react), they supported Hilary without pause. I spoke with a black woman months ago about voting for Obama verses Hilary and she said she would vote for Hilary. Funny how I had made the same assumption as many of you that because Obama was running they would choose him no matter what. It's just not true, and I was shocked at my left over unintentional stereotyping from the past influences in my life. Another example: my parents friend who is black while in conversation with a white was spoken to with the assumption he was voting for Obama, and in fact voted for McCain. He was hurt by the assumption and I can see why, though I'm sure the comment was also unintentional.
Yes, some blacks did vote for Obama just for the reason that he is black no doubt, (just like some whites voted for McCain for the same reason) but I feel pretty confident the majority voted for Obama based on concerns over the economy, just as many prejudiced whites did. Racism is far from dead though great strides have been made thank god, but right now we are seeing people choose what's perceived as the best option for their own hides verses voting for racial hate. And yes, it's a step in the right direction.

The point I wanted to make is that racism, as a policy or political tool is dead. And, racism as expressed by individuals is pretty much dead. Yes, there are some idiot racists and they come in all colours.
I think that if it were not for the victim mentality forced on blacks by the likes of Jesse, Al, Louis, with them saying that they are not as good as whites and can't compete with them so need special set asides, and the constant harping on what was 150 years ago (and using a revisonist version of the slave trade and how it started with blacks capturing and selling blacks into slavery. Plus ignoring the blacks in America who owned black slaves themselvs and treated them no better and no worse than white slave owners), racism would truely be a dead issue.
" but right now we are seeing people choose what's perceived as the best option for their own hides verses voting for racial hate"
Maybe. Or, maybe they voted for the politically correct version of racial hate that preaches that whites are always racist bigots and will always try to keep blacks in the ghetto.
I don't know a lot of blacks, but about half of them I know are conservatives. And some of the younger ones really enjoy being historically accurate and putting on good Confederate grey at reenactment and buiding their persona on their black ancestors who fought for their beloved Confederacy. The hate they have thrown at them by some blacks and liberals is quite impressive.
