It is not a president's job to directly control the economy. See the examples of Woodrow Wilson, Herbert Hoover, FDR and LBJ for examples of just how wrong a president trying to manage and control an economy can go.

Large scale restructuring of the tax code to punish acheivement is going to push the economy farther over, if not completely off, the cliff.
