I don't see any of the left of center people jumping in to defend Barry on any of the threads where we are pointing out where his actions are now contrary to his promises. The closest we come is Surefire saying to give him a chance and wait until he screws up.
They all seemed eager enough to rush to defend him before the election. What has changed?

They won. They are now out on a binge.

Just to be clear, I never defended Mr. Obama BEFORE the election. I'm not sure if you were discussing the lefties only, but it sounds like you're throwing me in with them. I also don't consider my stance defending him now. In fact, I did point out that I already have concerns given who he is picking, and the new timelines that don't match what he promised.

Oh, no, Surefire. Your urging us to wait until he screws up is the only thing that comes close to defending him since he was elevated to the august "office of the president-elect". change.gov/I never meant to lump you in with the leftists. I was just commenting that none of them are rushing in with soundbites and HufPo pieces supporting him. Added: and what the bloody hell IS "The Office of the President-Elect?" He seems to have created it by fiat - "let there come forth The Office of the President Elect, and let there be a government website for it" and behold, such an office was created along with the supporting website at government expense. And there was much rejoicing. 2nd addition: I was wrong, he didn't create it by fiat: "The Office of the President-elect comes from the Presidential Transition Act of 1963. Stephanopoulos signed letters back in 1992 from the ‘Office of the President-elect'." So it has been around. I've just never seen it used before as if it were part of the chain of command. Nor have I seen the arrogance of the change.gov website

I'm just as concerned as most other libertarians--especially on the BORs, but I'm not sure how productive it is to bash him when he isn't even in power yet. I will do what needs to be done in terms of writing about my disagreements about his policy -- in a way that doesn't come across to his staff as venting.

I don't see it as bashing. We are bringing to public view and questioning the statements from the Office of the President-Elect that differ from what his golden vision promises were. We are also calling on people to notice the trappings of power that he is already putting on. I have a feeling that this Imperial Presidency will make Nixons look good.

[/quote] I'm afraid you're right. I think people will be WISHING to have Bush/Carter/Nixon back by the time Mr. Obama is through. There is IMO no chance of Mr. Obama being re-elected if he governs towards the tinfoil left fringe. So, it he comes out with a radical agenda in his first term, there likely won't be a second. Of course, the damage done will be unrepairable.
