Well, this should be exciting. After all, he did such a good job last time. I still remember, "There is no controlling legal authority..." This sounds like the Clinton machine working to undermine Obama's presidential chances. I posted an earlier article by Dick Morris that posited that Hillary's only chance was to make sure that Obama is defeated in 2008, thus opening the door for Hillary's triumphal return in 2012. The Clintons are not easily embarassed.

Obama will decide who his running mate will be, not Carville nor Clinton. What about Colin Powell?? Now that would be a ticket!

You really don't want him to win, do you.

Actually I do. I also like Colin Powell, didn't agree with him all the time, but he is a military man.

That's praising with faint damns! What is so wrong with military people, Mink?
Wow, you REALLY have a bad case of foot-in-mouth tonight.

Maybe it is my communication tonight, but I don't have a problem with military people subdjoe. I didn't agree when Colin Powell pushed to invade Iraq with those fake pictures of vehicles shown on tape leading the council to believe they had WMD's. He resigned long before the admin. admitted there were none (WMD's) found which made me think he is not just an honorable military man, but an honest citizen. Right now, Obama needs an honorable, honest VP and with the country in this mess we are in, military expertise will ease nerves.

About the last military man I want anywhere in the executive branch is Secretary Powell, even though I greatly admire him personally and respect both courage and his career.
Even as JCS Chairman, Powell actively advocated appeasement. He wanted nothing to do with the first Gulf War until the debate reached the point where he saluted, said "yes sir" and carried out his orders. It was Schwarzkopf and the CENTCOM staff that manufactured that the triumph that it was even though Powell as JCS Chairman helped broker the work between the White House, the Pentagon and the field commander... just as Tommy Franks and his brilliant CENTCOM team put together the invasion of Iraq and subsequent regime change.
Powell was a politician as both a field grade and a general officer. He is a politician now. In that sense he is qualified to be the Vice President. That doesn't necessarily mean he'd be a good one.

Since when is it a requirement to become soft and squishy to be an honest man?
