Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed Ex-State Senator Carol Midgen to the Integrated Waste Management Board. The job pays $132,179 a year. A job that meets once a month and pays a bit more than her $116,208 legislative salary. Well done Arnold (he must be thinking of us, the people who have to drive out on the highways.) Since this new job of hers only meets once a month for a few hours, Midge will only be driving once a month rather than the several times she found herself commuting from San Francisco to Sacramento. www.fresnobeehive.com/opinion/2008/12/governor_rewards_migden_for_be.html

While I am sure the job comes with a state issued vehicle, if memory serves her CDL should still be suspended from her last escapade.
Between appointing career pols like Migden to high paying state boards to the practice of hiring "retired annuitants" drawing their pensions back in at nearly full pay on top of that pension, is it any wonder that the state is foundering?
