If you think Felt was a traitor or didn't like him sneaking around I would think you would feel the same if not more disdain for Nixon, as the President. See how Nixon violated the Constitution: classes.lls.edu/archive/manheimk/371d1/nixonarticles.html Nixon's concerns had little to do with serving the U.S. Constitution or the people and in the end his only concerns were protecting himself and his power by any means necessary. Mark Felt not only protected the FBI, the Constitution, but also the country.

The damage done to this country by Nixon was small and insignificant in comparison to the damage done in a previous administration. In fact, Nixon was on his way out of office in short order and was not trying to build a dynasty as was attempted by one individual who broke with tradition and used government money, offices and people in order to extend his reign as the supreme ruler of this nation.

I can't quite agree with you on this Moondog. Nixons shenannigans changed the feeling that the electorate has for the government. He did use the FBI and IRS to carry out personal attacks on opponents. Now, I will grant that he did not do the damage to the Constitution or the relationship between the federal government and the several states that Lincoln and FDR did, but he was trying to accrue Imperial-like powers to the Executive branch.

now, here's a real american patriot: www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/douglasmacarthurfarewelladdress.htmgeneral macarthur's farewell speech to congress. pay particular attention to his words regarding red china. though, almost 60 years ago, his speech remains relevant. it is also interesting to note his mention of the phillipines and what a model christian democracy it had become. yet, today it is falling victim to the growing tide of islamic extremism. this is the fault of the "holier-than-thou" appeasers on the left. the do-gooders will be to blame when that nation turns into another iranian satellite. imagine if old Mac were alive today......

How so? Nixon is on topic, ditto for what he did compared to other presidents. Or are you talking about Dugout Dougs little talk? That I am surprised you don't find fitting for Deep Throat.

Thread drift? If I recall, it was Nixon who normalized trade relations with China first. Any discussion of that must include warnings by Douglas C. MacArthur, who my best friends Grandfather met twice, by the way.

Was Mink elected dictator? Is Mink capable of carrying on a normal conversation? What do you do when your friends conversation drifts through related topics to a specific presidency? Do you jump in and say, "Ahem... conversation drift."
You want to talk about Deep Throat? I think he was not a patriot and was nothing more then a chicken, otherwise he would not have hidden himself. Far, far worse things have happened in the history of this government, at the hands of Democrats, which have gone covered up for decades.
