The funds are not being swindled. Incompetence is the problem. Incompetence by the designers of the system. Incompetence in the distribution of funds. Incompetence in how the money is spent. Incompetence in compensation to the teachers. The system does not work, period. It is failing us and our children. That is why it needs to be addressed now and the CTA needs to be slapped down.
moondog, this is a quick response I'm short on time, BUT:
I agree the system needs to be corrected, but how long is that going take, if ever?
As long as the people are willing to keep throwing money into it, the school system will never be fixed. Ditto for accountability, until we demand it, and kick out the wastrels and incomeptents, there is no reason for anyone to change.
Meanwhile kids are getting short changed (so to speak) and that is the biggest problem. If the allocation of funds is being swindled by the big fat bureaucrats then why don't "the people" step up to benefit the young and their educational experience?
Because the people have come to believe the lie that they are not competent to do anything and that only "The only ones" who can guide us and make decisions for us. And, that we can vote for bread and circuses and still have a viable society.
Until we get back to believeing that WE and not the State controls our lives, we will keep buying into the lies and half truths that keep capons like Lynn, Diane, Barbara, et. alia in cushy jobs for life.
