From the previous page you wrote.... Race baiting, pure and simple. You are either rather latently racist, or maybe it's just your liberal elitism showing through. There are successful blacks throughout this nation who did not have to settle for the squalor of government housing in the inner city which you ascribe to them unless they've "caught a break". They've worked hard and they've succeeded. They aren't gunning cops in the hood. They are doctors, lawyers, bank and business executives, entrepreneurs. They are raising families and helping move society forward. Your association of blacks, and others, as some sort of permanent underclass is downright firghtening and demonstates just how thoroughly "compassionate" government has corrupted vast segments of our society. Why should they work, after all, when they can sit on the dole? I pity you for the narrow view of the world you have.

I never said there aren't successful Blacks. As you mentioned, they work hard and have succeeded in many fields, love their families and set good examples. Even they had to pull themselves up from the other end of the pecking order our social engineers created.

I don't think I'm understanding your point subdjoe. It sounds as if you don't approve of the civil rights movement, because you say they were gradually coming up? How? They had separate water fountains, restaurants and had to sit in the back of the bus. They couldn't live in a "White" community or go to the same schools, how is that coming up? This is how society changes? Some of the things I do approve of, getting rid of the Jim Crow laws, for example. But by and large, the forcing of blacks to accept the Cult of Victimhood has been a disaster for them. The stuff you cited here was on its way out, if you take an HONEST look at what was going on you will see it. More people were questioning it, more people were coming out against the KKK and other such vermin. But, once again, something "had to be done" and social change was forced at the point of the bayonet. Literally. And when you force change that way people tend to resent it. So, the liberals, for the past 50 years have been telling blacks that they are not as good as whites. They are not as smart, not as diligent, not as productive. Libs have forced blacks to believe that they are helpless victims and can never be equal to whites, and must rely on the manaminity of whites to raise them up. Mink wrote: "Blacks can only afford the poorest parts of town, unless extremely lucky via some kind of a break. " You then denied that you said that: "I never said there aren't successful Blacks." And then qualified it with: " As you mentioned, they work hard and have succeeded in many fields, love their families and set good examples." You can't have it both ways, Mink. Either they can be people and " As you mentioned, they work hard and have succeeded in many fields, love their families and set good examples." OR they can "only afford the poorest parts of town, unless extremely lucky via some kind of a break. " or with special treatment that enforces the subhuman status that you want for them. If the left really believes that blacks and whites are equal, don't you think it is time the left started treating them as equals?

I never said there aren't successful Blacks. That's right... you didn't. Hence the problem. Just as I do. Just as we all should. Just as, I should hope, you do too aside from your latent racism that seems to be driven by white liberal guilt. The problem here is that in your first statement you don't recognize that at all, for any group. You simply ascribe, essentially, a permanent underclass status. Hence my assertions about how you view things. Latent racism might be regarded as institutional racism. institutional racism is the sort of racism that exists in society, not necessarily with the desired effects of keeping one race subordinate to another, but conversely, as the side effects of some other institutional endeavor. I would submit that you don't "intend" to create or maintain an underclass (while the Democrat party clearly seems to) but that it is a consequence of your belief system that there is an underclass and there is nothing anyone can do about it, so let's just throw money at it. Throwing money at it only serves to perpetuate it. Now you are trying to ride my coattails, but that isn't going to work for you. Not everyone is born into a situation where they are subjected to what the social engineers create and maintain. Some who are born outside it wind up there, some who are born into it carry themselves out of it. None of that mitigates or solves the actual problem of the social engineers in government and what they do. You miss that completely.

And slavery was abolished by... who? What was his race, exactly? We must forever praise the race of the one who abolished slavery!

"get over slavery!"......easy for us to say. (for the record, I am not influenced by Al or Jesse) No one living today was a slave. Yes... get over it. Everyone has had oppotunities to "be something", with no better evidence of that than the friggin WHITE HOUSE. Why has no one from the Mixon clan become president? It's not race, that's for sure. Hey... MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE OF THEMSELVES!!!! Personal responsibility, anyone?

what should we do then, mink? pay a million $$ to every black person who claims their great, great, great, great, great, great grandpappy was a slave?
should we give a white slave to every black person in america? would you be the first to volunteer?
fire all white leaders/CEOs and replace them with blacks?
what should we do?
since i was a disadvataged white boy in a black neighborhood growing up should i get some special treatment too?
