Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke (one of the world's foremost experts on Great Depression economics) said "Only with the New Deal's rehabilitation of the financial system in 1933-35 did the economy begin its slow emergence from the Great Depression." Bernanke, what a joke he is. You are going to listen to the very man who is resonsible for the financial advice which caused the economic decline we are currently suffering through?

Saunterelle whined: "You are being deceitful. " Yeah, that is YOUR job, isn't it, you lying basket of chicken manure. And, it rose, didn't it? So he was not doing what you do in each of your posts - lie. It didn't drop below 14% - so again he didn't lie. Not everyone is like you, there is no need to habitually lie the way you do. Let me guess, you work for Dear Leaders Ministry of TRuth, don't you?

Captainkona's bunk source is also a history professor. I guess they are not to be trusted. Ahem, I have more then a single source. Unlike you, and none are bunk, as you claim. I have posted the history of Deposit Insurace, written by the FDIC. I have posted direct quotes from Milton Friedman on the New Deal, I am sure he is not a historian. I have read New Deal or Raw Deal, written by a Historian. And I am reading FDR's Folly, written by a Historian. What have you read? A few links on the internet that agree with your point of view? My sources are all from people with varying political philosophies, not just some leftist History teacher. I have searched for the claims that they put forth on government sites and verified them. You just cry the leftist cry, "MORE GOVERNMENT." You qualify as what Marx called "the useful idiot." You parrot the party line without question.

if i'm deceitful then you are s.o.s. you are cheering the fact that FDR showed a small decline in unemployment but you fail to see that OVER 8 YEARS, even with his MASSIVE spending programs, he still couldn't manage to get it under 14%. is 14% acceptable to you? i hope so because that's what you are gonna see soon enough with obama and the democratic congress. why? because soon enough people will see that it doesn't pay to work. it will be better to stay at home and collect a check rather than bust your ass on the job just so you can pay taxes that go to others. i'm still waiting for the link to your bernanke quote.

Did I read that correctly? Did saunterelle incorrectly claim that FDR only had two terms in office? I am sure he passed away in the midst of his fourth term in office, less then 100 days in, ironically. And the despot was the very reason Presidential term limits were created and passed by Congress on March 21, 1947, to eventually be ratified by all the states on February 27, 1951. Harry S Truman was the last man to have the "right' to run for a third term, as he was specifically written as an exception to the law, but he bowed out because he was a man of honor.

Whoo-eee!!! Some explanations are really "Far Out" The $5000/1000 wages example could work just as well in the Republican Party. Best not to use bad examples as in this case. Backfire?

heckheckle, you do not need to put a carriage return and a line feed at the end of every sentence. You see, computers have this remarkable feature now that prevents a line from running endlessly, causing you to scroll right, it is called line wrapping. It functions based on your computers screen size and resolution settings. The only thing you are accomplishing it to make a one and a half line response look like four.
See: Whoo-eee!!! Some explanations are really "Far Out." The $5000/1000 wages example could work just as well in the Republican Party. Best not to use bad examples as in this case. backfire?

Mink: I don't think Captankona even understands the question. Considering that Mink never made a single post in this thread, I wonder who truly has issues surrounding understanding. Perhaps you should do as my father did, the diagnosis was alzheimer's for him.
