basically, that's what obama was saying. face it, the guy has trouble speaking off-the-cuff.
i agree with JMO, it is always best to learn a few phrases to help get you around in a foreign land and the natives appreciate it when you try to communicate with them in their language. the same holds true here. i appreciate a foreigner (invited guest)who is attempting english. i don't appreciate those who think "I" should know their language here in MY country!

I see your kids take after your side, Big Dog! Yep... nothing there my wife is going to take credit for. Welcome home, by the way. Will you be burning powder out at Duncan's Mills this weekend?

Thanks, Big Dog. Yeah, I'll be out there. Day tripping most likely. I have had enough of camping for a while.
Look for me with the Norfolk Light Artillery.

I think I am flying solo this weekend, Mrs. BigDog is doing some kind of event or another, so I am going to find some time to head out to Civil War days. The event is always a blast.... even if Joe's cannon is in the midst of being reloaded.

Invited guest, or immigrant one should always attempt to assimilate once entering another's country. __________________________ As Americans we get upset by those that come here and don't speak English, but we shouldn't be so quick to judge when often Americans will travel to a non-English speaking countries without preparation to communicate except in English. To make matters worse many expect to be treated as if they were home in the US instead of embracing the customs of the country they are in. JMO could have written: “As Mexicans we get upset by those that come here and don't speak Mexican, but we shouldn't be so quick to judge when often Mexicans will travel to a non-Mexican speaking countries without preparation to communicate except in Mexican. To make matters worse many expect to be treated as if they were home in Mexico instead of embracing the customs of the country they are in.” To even compound the problem, many of them are non aliens (or visitors) but become immigrants setting down roots in the new country while still clinging to their old foreign ways. Can we coin the term “Ugly Mexican?” Very simple to understand. Immigrate to many countries in Europe and you have a limited time to learn their language and get a job. Don’t learn the language or remain unemployed, you are sent packing. _________________________ BTW… Can someone also answer my question as to when these illegal aliens and immigrants stop being referred to as “illegal” and now are referred to in the politically correct term as “Undocumented Immigrants?”

Yes Ferrous, I could have written such words, but why would I want to? Well, unless we are going to discuss the lack of English verbiage used by the Hispanic "illegals'," is that a discussion you wish to have?
