Let me try to understand a few things.. since this is where I come to learn about politics. Obama has no in-depth experience, but that's okay because he is an outsider who will bring change. So he selects a man with experience as a VP which is good because he had experience, but bad because he is a Washington insider and does not represent change. McCain is a "same old" typical republican white male candidate representing no change, but that is okay because we don't need change. So he selects a female, rebellious VP which is good because she will fight against the party line when needed to get things done, but she has no experience so that is bad, even though in what she has shown she can get things done in what little experience she has.... Oh I'm confused again. I do have one point I'd like to make about experience. I really don't think its such a bad thing for the VP to have less. McCain has plenty anyway, and so will many/most of his cabinet. I just think its more important that the Prez have it than the VP. He is the boss. But if you don't have it, then its not a really bad move to select a VP who does. Sort of evens things out. All in all, stop worrying about experience since that's evened out now, and please stop worrying about gender and race and who picked who for that.... We all know its a play to the voters... its politics after all. Stick to policy stuff to help out poor me make my decision! Thank you. You know why the Democrats are harping on experience so loudly? Because McCain is not using that in his campaign. You only hear it from people who are not involved with the campaign.

Well, it's an obvious ploy to capture the votes of disgruntled Hillary supporters. With that said, I like that he chose a 44 year old woman. However, with this choice he has forfeited his right to complain about Obama's lack of experience or the idea that he's not "qualified." I look forward to learning more about her. It looks like the racist misogynists among us will have a tough choice this year. And Biden is not an obvious ploy? Give me a break. Obama has no foreign policy experience, what so ever, so he picks Biden. The very man who said that Obama does not have enough experience to be President of the United States. You should pack it in saunterelle. It is not a ploy when you partner yourself with someone who has great foreign policy experience because you lack it. What is a ploy is picking a woman just because you want to attract disgruntled Hillary voters. Problem is, it won't work. Palin's views are so detached from most American women that it's not even funny. The Republican party will never win when they're trying to be the party of "change."

She'll be a great President after John's first or second term, with Bobby Jindal as her VP.
I love the hate for this strong good woman.
Keep it coming!

Gee, saunterelle, the ONLY reason McCain picked a strong, confident, qualifed woman is as a ploy to lure Hillerites who don't want to become Bamaheads? So you saying that no conservative woman can be qualified to be VP, no matter what she brings to the ticket? Wow. I guess only leftist women have what it takes to be president or vice president. Thank you for making my point about the hate-mongering gynophobes of the left.

Not at all. There were plenty of qualified women for him to pick: Kay Bailey Hutchison, Marsha Blackburn, Condi Rice, and Elizabeth Dole spring to mind.
For you, what qualifies Palin to be VP? Governor of Alaska since 2006, mayor of a town of 5000, on the PTA borad, hockey mom to Willow, Frick, Frack, etc.
Seriously though, do you believe she's ready to take over as President if McCain keels over while in office?

Of the four, only Sarah has Executive experience. The other 3 are just Senators.

Of the four, only Sarah has Executive experience. The other 3 are just Senators. That's the most important point in this discussion: executive experience versus debating skills. Governors are executives, making final decisions that affect people and programs. Senators are debators who carp around the edges of programs and get so twisted in knots that it's easy to say, "I voted for it before I voted against it." A senator makes a great debator. When (s)he's been at it for a while, (s)he makes a Master Debator.

Seriously though, do you believe she's ready to take over as President if McCain keels over while in office? Bwaahahaha ..... I'd rather take my chances on this happening. THEN KNOWINGLY PUT AN EMPTY SUIT COMMIE PUPPET IN TO BEGIN WITH... Do you SERIOUSLY believe B. Hussein Obama is ready... Bwaaaaaaahahahahahaaa I gotta go I'm gonna herniate myself laughing... WAIT Obama DOES have "some" Executive experience....... He ran that law school magazine...BUT many of his predecessors and succecors say he was not very good at...and in fact "lazy". His campaign and all his speeches are Optimistic but optimism without REALITY is DISNEY.....
