I hear she is in oil......why does this not surprise me?? The real question is, is she ready?? Is she qualified take on the VP and possible pres. seat, just in case? Was this the best the choice Republicans have?

Actually with just few seconds of research you find that he quit his job as a roughneck when she ran for Gov. of Alaska.
Nice try at spin, Mink.

Heard where? Daily kos? Did you bother to check her record? It was in the very first link I went to.

Daily Kos? Why do you assume that's where I heard this from...unless you access the Daily Kos yourself? Am I assuming that the first link you access is the "real deal"? Please. I'm just commenting this is what I heard. This is news, a biggie, if you will and it was passed around at the water cooler. I know there will be more exposure of her background because she is the "pick".
Now, I am really curious as to why there is so much defense on her behalf.........and at the same time, hope she is worthy of the seat, just in case.

Nope, not often. But it sounds like the distortions that the Kos is know for. Just about every piece I read about her said her hubby worked in an oil field (note AN not THE) and being a Yup'ik the reasonable assumption, which in this case is the correct one, is that he actually works with his hands and isn't a suit. Maybe half of them noted that he quit the oilfields to avoid just the type of thing you did - <in hushed, semi-shocked whisper >"Did you hear that sarah Palins husband is in the OIL INDUSTRY?" with the implication that he is a running dog capitalist oppressor of the peace loving peasants and workers who slave under the Cruel Whip of unrestrained capitalism.
Why did I come on strong like I did in my original post? Because I KNEW that the left would be all over her. She doesn't fit the leftist prejudice of what a successful woman is supposed to be. And, I was throwing out, half in jest, the same type of crap that the left throws out about people who don't support Barry Boy - you heard it (to your credit I don't think you ever used it) - anyone who doesn't support him must be racist. The left also used their hate speech and bigotry against those who didn't support Hill - must be sexist or misogynist, or a gynophobe, etc. The left is REAL good at slapping negative, emotion-laden labels (homophobe, racist, cracker, redneck, bigot, and all the rest of the leftist mantra of intolerance and hate) on people who dare to go aginst its agenda. I thought that I might as well throw some of it back at them. For some reason, especailly on the PD Forum, the leftists don't care for it when they are on the receiving end of what they so gleefully dish out in abundance.
Yeah, the left must really be scared. Imagine a woman being successful without being pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-every other cause that the left bleeds for. She is almost everything the left hates - gun owner, NRA member, hunter, mother, devout Christian. About the only thing she has going for her is that she is a woman. But even that isn;t enough to cancel out the other things.
And, yes, I am having fun doing this. I love pointing out the hypocracy of the OH, so tolerant, diverse, and inclusive left. It is even better when I can take a page from them and use it almost word for word against them. And I LOVE that the left is questioning her experience. She has more experience in an executive branch than Barry Boy does. LOL, I'm listening to the Divine Ms Di whine about Palins lack of experience in foreign policy. Lord, she has as much as Barry has. But the left doesn't beat Barry up about that. And she is up front about her views and is willing to actually take a stand and make a decision. Quite unlike Barry "yeah I'm here" Obama who ducked out on making hard decsions for much of his political career.

Daily Kos, the HuffPo... what ever talking point factory the source is, five seconds of fact checking refutes the attempt to spin. Were you aware Mink that Mr. Palin is also a member of the Steelworkers Union? And both he and the oldest son (the one in the Army) are registered to vote as "Independent" and not Republican? The far left is going batty trying to find some little piece of dirt, any little piece of dirt, that they can try to hang on Palin. In fact the Kos-sacks are coming up with things based solely on imagination and innuendo in trying to smear Palin... such as insinuating that her most recent pregnancy was a cover for her oldest daughter. This is the most vile stuff, and should be pretty easily disproven. It's so despicable that even the Kos-sacks themselves are calling for the story to be pulled down. So just in case they do pull it down, here is more about it at NewsBusters. This is your side at work Mink. These are your people, fellow "progressives" practicing the politics of personal destruction.

She is the undocumented immigrant of the Women's Movement.
Mrs. Palin is just having the children the mainstream feminists won't have.
