McCain delivered a speech on June 3rd, the night Obama was announced winner of the Democratic primary. To me, McCain appears too old, out of touch, and hollow. What do you make of his speech? Do you think he's the candidate of change that he claims? Or is his campaign already running on empty? See the speech here: youtube.com/watch?v=A7RuX4pQPLY

He is hardly the choice of conservatives, however it still remains to be seen what his candidacy will look like, & how it will be received. The "reeeeally big shew" so far has been Hill the gal vs. Barry the black guy. Now (?) that that question is answered, the 2 nominees will pick their veeps; convene their party; establish their party platform, & go out on the road to sell it to us. Show's just getting started; try not to get too confident quite yet.

Agreed harpman, it may be way too early to tell. But he spent 3 weeks preparing for this speech and it pretty much fell flat. Even the FOX News pundits thought so: youtube.com/watch?v=3aMDJP4VxY4

OK, so he isn't a cheer leader at a pep rally. He actually had some content to his speech.
Saunterelle, did you even bother to listen to the words? Or are you just whining because he made sense, wasn't emotional, and actually seemed thoughtful? If you are the obamahead that you seem to be, I can understand why you are baffled by something with that is more like a lecture than a pep rally. And he is right on point about Obama wanting an all powerful State to take total control of our daily lives.

I listened to every word of the boring 23 minute speech McCain delivered. He was slow, bumbling, and pointless, and disrespectful. I watched as he confusingly read the teleprompter phrase: "In the event of catastrophe we should be able to deliver bottled hot water to dehydrated babies." WHAT!?!?
Have YOU ever listened to one of Obama's speeches? He is anything but a "cheerleader." What gives people hope and draws them to his speeches are his frank talk on important changes that need to be made in this country.
How can McCain back up his so called message of change? His policies are the same as Bush's that got us into the mess we're in now. I don't see America getting on board with John McCain unless he can convince us that he will be different. What he showed us in that speech was just more of the same.

Yes, Obama is a good speechifier! I've been hearing this for months and months. His speech was magnificent, and McCain's was boring. Several of Obama's speeches have been mentioned as among the greatest political speeches EVER. He is charismatic, energetic, and can really work up a crowd. He has made shrewd use of his speechmaking ability to sell himself to millions who, frankly, are easily fooled.
Obama has many ideas that appeal to a large number of people. They are legitimate supporters who truly believe Obama is best for our country. Obama has also convinced a large number of people to support him because he gives good speeches. McCain does not have this ability. Might that be the difference come November? We'll see, won't we.
Personally, since I agree on more points with McCain I'll probably vote for him. Unless its for President of the speech club, then Obabma get's the nod.

Oh, my! he stumbled over some words! Horror of horrors! Have you heard him talking off the cuff? Dead nuts on. Have you heard Barry? Mumbles, stutters, ums, ahs a lot.
And he was boring. Mercy sakes. That must be the biggest sin of all - to be boring.

Dead nuts off the cuff? Like when he was speaking to reporters in Jordan and showed his lack of knowledge by blurting out this misinformed statement? youtube.com/watch?v=v6GBdyws5YU Lieberman had to correct him. Lieberman! It isn't wise to attack Obama's speaking style. He is one of the most eloquent and intelligent speakers our country has ever seen. This is especially appealing after suffering through 8 years of Bush's linguistic deficiencies.

Remember the time B. Hussein Obama Said -
"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed." --on a Kansas tornado that killed 12 people
OOPS sounds "Overwhelmed" by JUST THE NEWS OF THE DAY in one state let alone the globe, since he cannot keep it straight..
"Come on! I just answered, like, eight questions." --exasperated by reporters after a news conference --- SOUNDS "LIKE" SUPER DUPER Presidential ....dude.. 8 WHOLE questions? Wow, not overwhelmed by eight questions was he....
"It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." --explaining his troubles winning over some working-class voters
NOPE NOT A PLAIN AND SIMPLE "DUMB" Comment at all........Shows superior intellect for sure. /sarcasmoff
"Why can't I just eat my waffle?" --after being asked a foreign policy question by a reporter while visiting a diner in Pennsylvania OH I DON'T KNOW maybe because you want to be President of the USA ....Nah that doesn't even sound remotely dumb...oh wait yes it does.
"I've now been in 57 states -- I think one left to go." --at a campaign event in Beaverton, Oregon ---
Uh yeah I want to be President but I have NO IDEA how many states there are...in the country I want to be President of. ----On a side note I bet he can tell you how many countries are in Africa..or states/provinces in Velenzuela...
Hold on one second, sweetie, we're going to do -- we'll do a press avail." --to a female reporter for ABC's Detroit affiliate who asked about his plan to help American autoworkers --EEEEEP OUCH Trying to be nice/cute or not...you think he mis-spoke?
No, this guy will certainly NEVER make a mistake or mis-speak..BUT remember IF he ever does he must be dumb.... CERTAINLY one of the most eloquent and intelligent speakers...PFFFFFFFFFFFFT.

So who's faux pas is worse? Making a mistake and mis-speaking on something silly? Or flat out NOT KNOWING something that directly relates to our war on terror?

I think NOT KNOWING how many states are in the union of the country you are runing for president in is basically bordering on mentally challenged. MY five year old can tell you the CORRECT answer.
Your so called MOST INTELLIGENT Speaker on the other hand.....
