This is something Alcervik posted on the PD board that seemed appropriate to repost here:
What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review? What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said "I do" to? What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer measured up to his standards?
What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization? What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama were a member of the Keating-5? What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?
This is what racism does . It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.
You are The Boss... which team would you hire?
With America facing historic debt, 2 wars, stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, mortgage crises, bank foreclosures, etc.
Educational Background
Obama: Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations. Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude
Biden: University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science. Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)
vs.
McCain: United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899
Palin: Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism
Now, which team are you going to hire ?

Just think of the boss or human resource person who looks at resumes all day and how they would organize these qualifications in two piles. Great post!

RIGHT...
But Unfortunately in the business world.
REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS TRUMPS "College" EXPERIENCE.
So B. Hussein would NOT get the job to the guy with 30+ YEARS IN THE FIELD ESPECIALLY IF WE ARE TALKING CEO..NO ONE OUT OF COLLEGE BECOMES CEO UNLESS OF COURSE IT'S A FAMILY SHOP OR THEIR OWN START UP.
TEXT BOOKS MEAN JACK SH*T COMPARED TO ON THE JOB TIME..

Obama made a point in response to that same point Mccain had made similar to yours, that how can they criticize the Congress as not being productive with Obama there , but Mccain has been there longer?
An education gives an advantage in most cases. It is rare to see an uneducated person make it to the top, although it is possible, the chances are better with schooling.

Obviously someone wasn't paying attention the other day when I posted in a thread here that it ain't solely about the education.
Harry Truman never spent a day in college. Turned out pretty good.
U.S. Grant graduated fairly high in his class at West Point and was a superb combat leader, tactician and strategist, yet he was an utter failure as president.
Ronald Reagan graduated with a BS in Economics from Eureka College, a Christian school pretty much no one ever heard of, and was arguably one of the most influential presidents of the 20th century.
Jimmy Carter, after studying at both Georgia Tech and Georgia Southwestern State graduated 59th out of 820 in the Annapolis class of 1946. He was an unmitigated disaster as president.
George W. Bush graduated from Yale and then from Harvard Business with an MBA... and I am sure I can guess what you all think of his performance.
The bottom line is that while education is important, it ain't everything. And the continued harping by you on the left that Barack's education trumps McCain's is just that. Harping.
Please also note that Barack graduated without any honors from Columbia, which means a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or less at the standard then. How he got into Harvard Law is somewhat questionable, but since he won't release any of his college records we can only guess can't we?
Meanwhile McCain's record at Annapolis is well and fully disclosed. If you check him on Wikipedia you find the following well footnoted passage....
So if you cared to actually read up on the matter, instead of simply parroting someone else's bilge, McCain's rank in the class was due, in no small part, to personal demerits and not solely to academic missteps.
But that's what happens when you start playing identity politics.... sooner or later you look dumb and petty. Which is exactly how the left continues to look.

Obama made a point in response to that same point Mccain had made similar to yours, that how can they criticize the Congress as not being productive with Obama there , but Mccain has been there longer? Joe Biden has been in the Senate for 36 years now... way longer than McCain. In fact, if memory serves, when Biden one his first election to the Senate, McCain was still a POW. Joe Biden is a loose cannon who can't keep his feet out of his mouth. For someone so well educated he sure has some serious shortcomings, huh? That's because it is impossible to teach someone common sense. You either have it, or your don't. Presidents need it, Biden clearly doesn't have it given his 36 year Senate career of being wrong more often than he has been right, and Barack is open to question considering his troubling associations, the deliberate concealment of his academic record, the evasion of his roles with ACORN and Tony Rezko, and his unwillingness to deal with any of those issues in a candid and forthright manner. McCain and Palin, for whatever other faults they might have (real or imagined) have both led... McCain in the military and Palin at both the city and state levels of government. All Barack and Biden have done all their lives is run their mouths. So spare me your pettifogging about Barack's qualifications, and Biden's for that matter.

what if mccain attended a church headed by a race-baiting lunatic for 20 years and obama didn't? what if mccain had shady real estate dealings with tony rezko and obama didn't? what if mccain had a buddy who commited acts of "domestic" terrorism and obama didn't? what if mccain was the least qualified candidate in the last 100 years and obama wasn't? yes, racism is a powerful thing and it can certainly blind the masses. i think someone for whom many a boulevard were named after said something like: judge a man not for the color of his skin but the content of his character. oops, sorry i forgot he was a republican.

Please explain how Ayers is Obama's "buddy." They sat on a board together, they had a brief work association. Hardly "buddies."

Mink I never said a person with NO EDUCATION. As you can see they both HAVE college educations. It's the person with an Education AND REAL WORLD ON THE JOB EXPERIENCE That gets the CEO spot. NOT the kid fresh out of college no matter HOW MANY MBA's he/she has. B. Hussein is a JUNIOR SENATOR with a handful of days on the job. NO voting record to speak of when he was on the job...so no one can REALLY KNOW what he is about. With his EXTREMELY limited resume' of REAL WORLD GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE.

SHUT UP ALREADY, how many times must we hear the same talking point over and over and over and over. We get it already. Obama is as pure as the driven snow, he can walk on water, he has never done anything wrong and he has been anointed by the media. Just try to make a point without using talking points we hear on television every damn day.

Please explain how Ayers is Obama's "buddy." They sat on a board together, they had a brief work association. Hardly "buddies." The case has been made by reputable reporters. The story was carried in Mainstream outlets such as the WSJ. The man went through the archives of the boards they sat on together, and came up with alot more than "casual" met once or twice acquaintances. At the VERY LEAST they worked EXTREMELY CLOSELY TOGETHER AS "Executives" of said boards. Making it sound like they didn't at all is ridiculous. And shows a lack of knowledge around the workings of Multi-Million dollar "Boards" of ANY type. Just because YOU and the rest of the in the tank for Obama liberal media, feel the writer "lied". Doesn't make it so, just because what YOU consider "mainstream" and I consider "downstream" wont run the stories, doesn't make them untrue. And in fact it makes liberals into even bigger liars, and snakes IMO.
