For those of us who are Right, this election is very liberating. For eight years, we have had to defend the President against the scandalous and scurrilous attacks from the Rabid Left. Everything from "A villiage is missing it's idiot" to "BUSH LIED" to "the worst economy in 50 years" has been thrown up by the Democrats in their attempts to discredit a man who has led us through the most devastating attack on our society since Pearl Harbor. Well, now the shoe is on the other foot, isn't it? Is the Right justified in slinging mud against the new administration the way the Left has done since January 2001? Or, does the inauguration of a new messiah demand that we put aside our differences and march, lock step, into the ovens? The good news is that the picture of our country that the media portrays will instantly become better. Gone will be the focus on increasing unemployment rates, which never did hit the highs reached under Carter. Also, with the election of a black president, we have effectively put the racial hate mongers out of business. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will have to come up with a new line of work. It is time for the conservatives to take back the Republican Party. We were beaten by Obama's ground game, which geared up during his primary fight with Hillary and, thus, was a couple of laps ahead of McCain from the get-go. This is no time to sit back and wait for the next election. We have to start working now to put our agenda out and contrast it with what is sure to come from the Pelosi-Reid axis in Congress. I think that once the left show their true colors, Libertarians, Constitutions, and Republicans will have a field day. With this said, like I said earlier, Mr. Obama is our president now and I will give him a chance. However, if he flips it up and attacks our rights, all bets are on.

don't you mean "when" not "if"? Just going by his record, he will be pushing back our rights from day one. Or urging Congress to do it.
Oh, on the subject of Congress - ifyou wnat ot annoy your Senators, call them "congresswomen". After all, the Senate is just the upper house of Congress.

I'm trying to be as positive and open minded as possible. But yes, I would be shocked if Mr. Obama never attacks our rights.

I voted against Bush in his first election and was disgusted and disappointed with the outcome. I was even more disgusted with the treatment the media and, for want of a better term, the Loyal Opposition treated him and his policies. Then I saw how he handled himself and the situation in Sept. 2001. If left alone, away from his handlers, he does well. That is why I voted for him in 04.
I held my nose and voted McCain this time.
I am going to give Barry-boy the same treatment that the media and left gave Bush.
If I don't get my case of Bubble-up and cans of rainbow stew by 1/31/09 I am going to be VERY upset.

^I voted for Bob Barr this year.
I know he had no chance of winning, but neither did McCain (in CA).
Further, I didn't want to just vote for a lesser of the evils candidate.

The market continues its plunge today, down another 441 points to 8697. The traders know what's coming and they are pulling their money out now, before it's too late.
The market hasn't been this low since the spring of 2003, officially the end of the Clinton recession and the shock of 9/11. the market was on a steady upward trend until the subprime mortgage meltdown started in 2007. Thank you, Franklin Raines and Barney Frank.

Tuesday evening, I was at an election party for some local candidates. A good friend of mine, who is a Democrat and a CPA, was gloating over the declared Obama victory. I told him that he had just voted for higher taxes. He told me that he wasn't worried because he would never pay them, and none of his clients would, either. So, my Democrat friend is Ok with voting for higher taxes because he thinks he'll never have to pay them. How many other Obama supporters felt that it was OK to vote for the man who told us repeatedly that he would raise taxes, because the supporter was sure that it wouldn't include him? How many people realize how a higher tax rate will affect the economy? The people that Obama has targeted for tax increases - and that group is continually changing - are the people who create jobs and hire people. We're in big trouble. Here's my new bumper sticker Bend Over, Here It Comes

New Guy, you got it wrong - it should be "Worst president-ELECT ever!"
But I agree, stocks plunge almost 1000 points in two days as investors pull out to avoid being ruined by Barrys "fair" tax plan.
