New Guy, you got it wrong - it should be "Worst president-ELECT ever!" But I agree, stocks plunge almost 1000 points in two days as investors pull out to avoid being ruined by Barrys "fair" tax plan. Yep, us stock owners are f'd. I expect higher capital gains and dividend taxes. I'm a buy and hold after doing homework sort of guy, so I won't be selling in panic. However, I expect to be slammed with increased dividend taxes in the next 4 years.

YOU own stock, Surefire? YOU are a running-dog lick spittle lacky of the bourgois capiatlist imperialists? I'm shocked, aghast, stunned, gobstopped, and amazed that you would admit to that. Submit yourself for re-education at once.

Barack is holding his first (ever) press conference on Friday. Any odds on whether or not he gets a tough question?
Like surefire I'm in the long term mode. I don't buy equities to flip them at the first sniff of trouble. I fully expect to be rogered deeply over the next few years, but eventually that too shall pass. I have about ten years or so until I'll be ready to start thinking about retirement.... which would be two full years longer than Barack can occupy the White House, assuming he can win a second term. So while I will pay for his policies, I'll still be here and productive when he is gone from the stage.
There is some comfort in that. And there is comfort in knowing that sometimes it can be really fun to be the loyal opposition.

Barack is holding his first (ever) press conference on Friday. Any odds on whether or not he gets a tough question? Our president elect has already chosen a piece of work, Rahm Emanuel, for his staff. This is shaping up to be a real bi-partisan regime... maybe he'll give Michael Moore a position on his staff as well.
