I changed the subject line for you. Let's not get THAT polemic here. That was about like saying "Kikes bomb Ragheads Again." or "Sambos and Beaners Party with knives and guns."
Now that that is out of the way, It seems that this happy couple was more about politics and making a statement than about love.

This is the second homosexual divorce since the courts rejected the law passed by Californians against gay marriage the first time. That would mean they were married less then three years. Kind of makes you wonder, doesn't it.

Kids are collateral damage in every divorce and I don't see where gay couples are divorcing at a higher rate than straights. I for one have one straight divorce under my belt, but not a single gay divorce!

crossride, I completely agree with you. To add: Some people divorce without any consideration for the children, and when "little Johnny" turns to drugs everyone is shocked. Granted, there are MANY situations where divorce is the better alternative, but if it can be put off for as long as possible the kids do benefit (so long as the situation isn't emotionally, or physically damaging). And, I wish people would use caution when introducing someone new to the child. I would NEVER introduce a date to my child unless I'd spent a lengthy amount of time with that person and saw a potential future. People can be so self-absorbed and careless...

Good for them. Plenty of straight people get divorced as well. Is there some reason why a divorce is any worse if the folks are gay? None at all. However, we have been hearing for at least a decade how strong and stable same sex relationships are, so it seems somewhat ironic that not long after we see the first gay marriages, we start seeing the first divorces too. Plus, looking at this couple in particular, it seems that they got married more as a political statement than anything else. Or, that is my read on it.

Personally, I don't care who or what you sleep with. My view is that marriage is primarily a religious institution/rite and the State has no business in it at all. If a couple, or more, can find a sect that will perform a marriage ceremony for them, go for it.
On the other hand, as a traditionalist, I see it as something between one man and one woman. If it is other than that, it gets called something else.
