Are you really happy about Biden being the choice? Who would you have wanted to see? I never though Hillary would work although I like her and Bill. They have too much baggage, so yes I am happy with Biden.

another great speech here...
note in the beginning how he mentions his flaws including mispronunciations, etc.
then, if you've got the guts, listen to the rest of the speech. i guarantee you that obama will never make a speech with such conviction, such expression of sincerity, and even show of emotion.
you don't hate GWB for the things he does or says or even his courage of conviction, mink. you have a deep-seated hatred for the man because you were told to hate him by the DNC and your progressive handlers. it is truly sad that you cannot see beyond this blind hatred; not even for the sake of your country.

I'll try to come up with a list of the last effective president who came up through the Senate. Right now, the only one I can think of is Kennedy (John, not Ted). Governors make better presidents because they have executive experience. Lyndon B. Johnson - Probably the most effective persident in modern era politics. His Great Society was the push for Democrats to get out from beneath their old KKK ways and push for civil rights laws, Medicare (health care for the elderly), Medicaid (health care for the poor), aid to education, and the "War on Poverty." His effectivness stemed from the fact that he held so many favors from his time in the House and Senate. Obama brings nothing of this to the ticket and it will play out if Biden holds any chips that he could use in swaying congressional votes.

What's even sadder is that you truly believe your own false conclusion, Ferrous. BTW, for the sake of the country, why don't you look past your own nose and see bush's timeline of blunders, bumbling policies and lies. Maybe you' ll understand the reason those who have actually listen to Obama and have something to hope for. Biden is a perfect choice as VP.

If memory serves me correct, it was Biden and Orin Hatch that were constantly going after one another. "As Sen. Hatch and committee chairman Biden exchanged sharp words concerning the introduction of Professor Hill's affidavit into testimony. The committee recessed for five minutes, and reemerged to state it would delay questioning Judge Thomas and would hear testimony from Professor Hill. Rather than throw gas on that catfight, I decided to just see for myself. I caught just a bit of Joe Biden's speech Saturday after Obama nammed him as his choice for Veep. The video and full text are here. Biden came out swinging, hitting every chord of the class warfare song. That's pretty tough to do for a man who graduated from Yale Law School, worked as an attorney for four years, then got elected to the Senate. Kinda makes it tough to believe him when he says "Ladies and gentlemen, your kitchen table is like mine." Except a lot smaller, of course. Also, Joe derides the lack of progress in several key Democrat talking points issues, but neglects to mention that he has been in a position in the Senate to affect those issues for over thirty years. That's the main reason why I said that it's difficult to elect someone out of the Senate. The candidate is always vulnerable to the question, "If it's such a good idea, why haven't you done anything about it so far?" Hold your breath to see if someone from the MSM asks that question.

Well, I'm not Gaffney, but I will take a crack at it. Since Barry is all about "Change" I think he could have picked someone other than a sixth TERM senaor who is well entrenched in the system and is resistant to any change in it, other than making it more socialist. By picking one of the people who personifies the system he is saying that his message of "Change" really doesn't mean anything.
