why must we always do your homework for you? if you are going to hang around here i would ask that you at least occasionally attempt a little research on your own.
the jet which costs 2.7 million was sold for 2.1. for a jet that was several years old that sounds like a pretty good deal. especially, considering that there aren't people lining up to buy one in the first place. the savings for the state of alaska not having to pay for fuel, maintenance, pilots, etc. i'm sure is plenty. palin righted a wrong in the eyes of alaskans. the previous governor bought the jet using state funds that he somehow appropriated even after he was denied the jet by state legislature and fed funding committees. palin also prefers to drive herself to work. do you really have a problem with a politician saving money by not utilizing unnecessary frills? i don't. i wish the ones in washington would take a few lessons from her on that subject.

Mink, I'm not sure which thread about Palin you posted the leftist lie about her trying to ban books. Check it out here. www.snopes.com/politics/palin/bannedbooks.aspRemember that snopes is a litttle left leaning. Not much, but a bit left of center. I will note that some of the books are classics by Mark Twain, and those tend to be on the leftists lists of books to burn because they use the dreaded "N-word" Subdjoe, I didn't provide a link to the library. I did hear about it from a few places pro/con sources, but thanks. I'll check it out hopefully sooner than later....busy day.

TNG, I thought I did my homework. I provided links but I don't see one from you here. Can you tell me who bought the plane and how it is being utilized? If palin is going to prove a point/s in DC, maybe she should set the example first. Please prove me wrong here.

Mrglenn: "if you are going to hang around here i would ask that you at least occasionally attempt a little research on your own." BTW, before I get my "beauty " sleep , what the heck does that mean? If I'm going to hang around here??? Maybe I'm just tired, but what are you implying?

Isn't it interesting that the PeeDee sees fit to give us the excruciating detail on Gov. Sarah Palin's expense account, while completely ignoring the $200,000 raise Michelle Obama got at the University of Chicago Hospital after her husband was elected to the Senate. Unfortunately for the hospital, the $1 million earmark that Obama subsequently introduced in the Senate died in committee.

I will finalize my views after the debates when the politicians have to respond without teleprompters. ___________________________________________________ Taegan Goddard's Political Wire Debates Finalized The Obama and McCain campaigns released a joint statement today noting their agreement on three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate. All four debates will begin at 9pm ET, and last for 90 minutes.
First Presidential Debate -- September 26 at the University of Mississippi Topic: Foreign Policy & National Security Moderator: Jim Lehrer Staging: Podium debate Answer Format: The debate will be broken into nine, 9-minute segments. The moderator will introduce a topic and allow each candidate 2 minutes to comment. After these initial answers, the moderator will facilitate an open discussion of the topic for the remaining 5 minutes, ensuring that both candidates receive an equal amount of time to comment Vice Presidential Debate -- October 2 at Washington University (St. Louis) Moderator: Gwen Ifill Staging/Answer Format: To be resolved after both parties' Vice Presidential nominees are selected. Second Presidential Debate -- October 7 at Belmont University Moderator: Tom Brokaw Staging: Town Hall debate Format: The moderator will call on members of the audience (and draw questions from the internet). Each candidate will have 2 minutes to respond to each question. Following those initial answers, the moderator will invite the candidates to respond to the previous answers, for a total of 1 minute, ensuring that both candidates receive an equal amount of time to comment. In the spirit of the Town Hall, all questions will come from the audience (or internet), and not the moderator. Third Presidential Debate -- October 15 at Hofstra University Topic: Domestic and Economic policy Moderator: Bob Schieffer Staging: Candidates will be seated at a table Answer Format: Same as First Presidential Debate Closing Statements: At the end of this debate (only) each candidate shall have the opportunity for a 90 second closing statement.

We can expect a vicious attack on Sarah Palin in the next few weeks. Rather than argue on the issues, the Dems are going to unleash personal attacks like we've never seen before. According to John Fund: Why don't the Dems just bring back Larry Flint and the Ragin' Cajun? Change, my a**!

Gaffney, I heard today that mccain is also sending investigators into Alaska too...... I only found one link, however: beltwayblips.com/story/breaking_mccain_campaign_heading_to_alaska_to/quote: "A very reliable source overheard Republican spokesperson McHugh Pierre state TODAY that he had spoken to the McCain Campaign. They are coming to Alaska tomorrow to check out the "Troopergate" investigation." While the Dems bring back Larry Flint, maybe the Repubs can create more lies

While the Dems bring back Larry Flint, maybe the Repubs can create more lies It sounds like the Larry Flint/Ragin' Cajun comment hit a little too close to home, Mink? It forced you to fall back on your "Bush Lied" defenses. Yet, when Obama gets caught in his lies, it's....what? Excusable?

Bloverk: "You forgot, or purposely omitted, the part where she took money from those coffers and paid it out to the people of Alaska to offset their increase in expenses related to energy consumption. Why is that?" I didn't omit it, I posted the link. What she paid to the people didn't compare to the lost jobs from outsourcing the natural gas and puttting many out of work. I'm not saying everything she does is unacceptable, but there is enough to make her questionable, is all. For instance the governor's plane/jet (whatever) that she put on Ebay. She doesn't follow through to complete what really happened. It didn't sell for one thing, and she wound up selling to someone she knew at a $600,000 loss to the state. It's things like this that make me question mccain's judgement. Yet, you can find nothing wrong with Obama. So the plane sold for a loss, big deal. At least she is not using it to waste money traveling around, and was instead using a chaeper method of travel. I bet that even though it sold at a loss, the savings offset by not having to pay the maintenance alone was more then the $600,000 dollar loss. Do you realize just how expensive airline maintenance is? And, I can not find anything referencing the number of jobs lost when Palin outsourced natural gas. How do you outsource natural gas? How do you outsource removing a natural substance from your own state? Someone had to go to Alaska to do the job, so it would not be conisdered outsourcing. Provide me with some documentation, because the people of Alaska do not seem to be upset with Palin over the issue. And if you want to talk about enough to make a candidate questionable, start reading about Obama. Review some news from Chicago. Obama is no jewel, and has plenty of tarnish on him. He is anti-gun. He is pro-illegal immigration and supports amnesty for illegals. He disenfranchised voters during his election for state office. He missed about 167 votes will in state office, and 291 votes in the current congress. He votes 96% or more of the time with his party when he votes, so he is unwilling to compromise. He was part of the crowd that prevented any of Bush nominations from coming to the floor for a vote, just because they were nominated by a Republican. This action alone damaged our nation, because it was not done in the spirit of Democracy, but in the spirit of the Democrat party. He voted yes on the Amnesty program disquised as a "path to citizenship" for illegals who broke the law by crossing our borders. He voted against a Constitutional Amendment that would have given Congress the power to ban desecration of the American Flag. I would say he has quite a history of reasons to oppose him as President of the United States of America. In fact, there is more then enough to determine that he is more the questionable. And, by the way, I want to smite you for misspelling my screen name twice. Intentionally is my belief. Please endeavor to spell in correctly, Gink.
