I wish she had turned the tables on him and asked "I want to be clear, so will you state what you mean by "The Bush Doctrine?" But few of us have the presence of mind to instantly sieze on something like that. She ALMOST got it right with her "In what respect?"

Charles Gibson is a biased jackass. He revealed just how much of the Biased Liberal Media he's become. Journalism is dead, that's for sure, in favor of trying to excercise media power to get their boy elected. Rupert Murdock has killed journalism completely now, opting instead to entertain us with his news sources. Charles Gibson is a biased jackass. Oh, did I say that already?...

If I could see the "Exalt" link I'd'a hit it on this post. Don't see it right now. Don't know why... Subdjoe beat me to it. I too was going to respond with Charles Krauthammer's article. article.nationalreview.com/?q=OTU5YmYzNjU2MThhOTFiZWNmNjE4MTc5MzY3ZGRkMGY=The Bush Doctrine (s) #1... ABM, Kyoto, and the New American Unilateralism: the Bush administration policies of unilaterally withdrawing from the ABM treaty and rejecting the Kyoto protocol, #2... Either you are with us terrorists." From this day forward any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime." #3... The right of ‘anticipatory self-defense. #4... the fundamental mission of American foreign policy is to spread democracy throughout the world. "“The survival of liberty in our land increasingly depends on the success of liberty in other lands. The best hope for peace in our world is the expansion of freedom in all the world.” [Ms. Palin most visibly stumbled when she was asked by Mr. Gibson if she agreed with the Bush doctrine. Ms. Palin did not seem to know what he was talking about." I believe that it was Charlie Gibson that didn't know what he was talking about. At this point, the leftist news media are like the proverbial deer caught in the headlights as she adjusts the cross-hairs on her scope just before she drops one of them.

why don't you start by telling us what she did wrong? p.s. surefire, got any idea what the "bush doctrine" is? I certainly wouldn't have been able to come up with a good answer myself. I think Subjoe hit the nail on the head, she SHOULD have tried to turn the tables.

I thought Charlie Gibson did fine especially since no one knows her. It was obvious that she wasn't familiar with the Bush doctrine, but that wasn't all. She seemed to oscillate or duck and weave on many issues. One thing she admits, is she would like to see roe vs wade gone and as contraversial as this issue is, it is a woman's issue.
How can one say they don't want government, but manipulate it in a conniving fashion? (Bridge to nowhere)

Who sees Gov. Palin as a "favorable" candidate?
65% of men. 65% of white women.
A nickel says Biden finds a "personal" reason to quit the ticket by Oct. 1st.

Ya know, we keep hearing that "no one knows" who Palin is. Until he started his run for President just after he was sworn in as a Senator, no one knew Obama, either. In fact, after all these years of campaigning, we STILL don't know Obama. What is HIS take on the (so-called) Bush Doctrine? Does he even know what is meant by that phrase? He claims he is for change, does that include an overturn of Roe? How can he claim that he isn't against private ownership of firearms when he wants to outlaw ALL semi-automatic firearms for private citizens? How can he support a law that would outlaw any shotgun over a .410? How can he support a ban on lever action rifles? (under the AWB that is a not talked about plank in the dems platform just about all lever action rifles would be banned as "assault weapons."). Why does he duck and weave about Iraq, Iran, and Afganistan? Why did he lie about not running for President until he had experience? Did that whole year in the Senate really give him enough experience to run for that high office? If a year as a Senator is enough experience, then a year and a half (almost two years) as a Governor should be more than enough to run for VP.
What does he really believe on anything? We don't know. His public speeches don't tell us, neither does his website. If you stop and analyze his words, he doesn't take a stand on much of anything other than what is politically expedient at that moment. If you look at his sparse voting record you do see a pattern of supporting anti-civil rights, socialist, nanny-state legislation.
No, no. If an unknown like Barry can run for the top spot, the left has no standing to claim that Palin, who is in the running for the second spot, is an unknown and therefore isn't qualified.

(under the AWB that is a not talked about plank in the dems platform just about all lever action rifles would be banned as "assault weapons."). I think Obama thinks the citizens are mindless sheep. He keeps claiming that he is not going to "take your rifles away"... yet his stances prior to his presidential run speak for themselves. If anyone believes Obama is a friend to law abiding gun owners, then I've got a bridge to sell you. This is another example of a politician speaking out of his rear in order to get elected. When Obama takes the office (despite the polls, I don't think McCain has much of a chance), I predict he will wait till his second term before drastic gun bans (he is smart enough to know gun bans in his first term would be political suicide). The only hope is to vote the most liberal reps and senators out so that the extreme left doesn't control house, senate, and president.
