What does he really believe on anything? We don't know. His public speeches don't tell us, neither does his website. If you stop and analyze his words, he doesn't take a stand on much of anything other than what is politically expedient at that moment. If you look at his sparse voting record you do see a pattern of supporting anti-civil rights, socialist, nanny-state legislation. Speaking of nanny-legislation, won't life be grand when Gavin Newsom runs for CA Governor. California is going down the road of needing to change the state designation to the "Nanny State." ;D

So back on topic, per palin's interview last night, she is also against semi-automatic weapons. As for hunting, if people who hunt, would honor the carcass of the animal, like eating it, use of the fur, and whatever, I can understand it. As soon as the wolf is off the endangered species list, palin encourages $150. approx. per limb. Not only will we rid the wolf entirely, as money oges into the pockets of these numbskulls, there is no honor in the killing.....
Palin's brief time as both mayor/governor , although not criticized by Obama, has left the town in a deficit, and Alaska heavy with pork barrel spending, the same pork barreling mccain is against and now palin flip flops as she tries to justify the spending of the money that never went for the bridge to nowhere.

where do you get this stuff? you make lots of claims but rarely ever post a link to back it all up. here's a little homework assignment for ya: 1. did wasilla, AK have a deficit when she became mayor? 2. when, where, and why did she make this statement regarding wolves? 3. it is said that approx. 95% of all species to ever live on earth have become extinct. what percentage of those became extinct as a result of mankind? papers are due tomorrow, no excuses. this is worth 50% of your total grade this sememster. p.s. i only caught portions of part 1 of the interview. does anyone have a link handy where i can see it all?

I'd also like a link to Palin's statement about being against semi-automatics. Perhaps Mink misheard the type of weapon system ... and the talk was about full automatics? I don't know a single NRA member that wants SEMI-automatics banned. I have a hard time believing Palin would be for that. If she is against semi-automatics, she is an NRA member in name only.

Here is one link regarding aerial killing of wolves /$150. per palin" actionpointonline.com/2008/08/30/palin-aerial-hunting-of-wolves-in-alaska/Quote: Anchorage, AK — Today Defenders of Wildlife, the Alaska Wildlife Alliance and the Alaska Chapter of the Sierra Club asked the Alaska Superior Court to shut down Governor Palin’s $150-per-wolf bounty program citing the fact that Alaska’s bounty laws were repealed in 1984 and the State has no current legal authority to implement the bounties. The state’s press release, issued last Wednesday, indicates that “Permittees will be paid $150 when they bring in the left forelegs of wolves taken from any of several designated control areas.”

I heard this on the second part of her interview with Charlie Gibson last night. I could be wrong, but I'm almost sure I heard correctly. I was trying to find a transcript of the interview.......

Wasilla prior to palin was difficult to find as I only heard that she left it in deficit, but here is one link and I took a portion from one of the towns people: xpostfactoid.blogspot.com/2008/08/thrilla-in-wasilla-palin-wrestles-with.htmlQuote: 4. Palin was elected on a platform of cutting taxes and eliminating wasteful spending. In her first year in office, she took aim at the local museum, which three women had been running for more than 15 years on a total budget of $200,000, or about $25 per town resident. Palin cut the budget by $32,000, which meant that the staff of three would have to choose one who would lose her job. All three quit in protest. One of three “gray-haired matrons” Ann Meyers, 65, said, “If the city were broke, it would be different,” but the city was flush with $4 million in reserves at the time. Palin countered that the museum could be run more efficiently and that voters wanted their tax dollars spent on road repair and extending sewer lines. The museum showcases mining material, homestead memorabilia and early Wasilla history (ADN, 8/6/97).

As for the third question TNG has posed, I don't see sense in it.
Killing animals just to kill because we can, is fanatical. If palin sees fit to shoot wolves in such a harsh way, I don't see how anyone could be proud to know her much less want her to govern.

objection! your honor. heresay! the best you could come up with is a blog? you'll never get a passing grade in my political reality class with that. as for question number 3...... you should talk to those who live in states where hunting is a way of life. also, read up on state DNR's and animal population control issues. yes, even our progressive CA understands the need. check out this link to learn more about black bear, bighorn sheep, deer, and wild pig management: www.dfg.ca.gov/wildlife/hunting/biggame.htmlbonus question (i'll even give you the answer): what is worst than being shot by a hunter? a: being in a species that becomes overpopulated and having to compete for food then dying a slow, excruciating death. that is why species are managed here in north america.

TNG: "as for question number 3...... you should talk to those who live in states where hunting is a way of life."
Hunting as a way of life is no comparison to brutal killings. A hunter who has to hunt, honors the kill.

A hunter who has to hunt, honors the kill. I agree with Mink about this one. I'm all for hunting if one eats the animal. What I don't agree with is killing just to pin heads on the wall, or for sport/pleasure. Prime example is what I call "Redneck" mentality. I've seen people shoot down bald eagles or hawks just for the heck of it, and leave the animal twitching on the ground to die slowly. There is a small percentage of shooters that will shoot at anything that moves, and even put people at risk for the sake of "sport". I think killing for "fun" is a sign of a sick mind.
