barry would be like the cherry lieutenant who shows up to take charge of the platoon thinking he knows better than all the seasoned NCO's. that has never gone well in my experiences.

Mink sez...
Thank you, Mink, for giving me that lead-in to further expound on my point. Obama has been in the Senate for a total of 3 years. Two of those years have been spent running for president.
Obama's list of legislative accomplishments includes:

Feel free, Mink, to fill this list in.

Sen. Obama's list of Senate legislative accomplishments includes: Global Poverty Act of 2007 (H.R.1302, S.2433) H.R.1302 introduced Reps. Adam Smith (D-WA) and Spencer Bachus (R-AL). S.2433 was introduced by Senators Barack Obama (D-IL), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), and Maria Cantwell (D-WA). What the Global Poverty Act Would Do It seeks to eliminate extreme poverty by: Requiring the president to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to carry out that policy. Including guidelines for what the strategy should include — from aid, trade, and debt relief, to working with the international community, businesses and NGOs, to ensuring environmental sustainability. Requiring that the president’s strategy include specific and measurable goals, efforts to be undertaken, benchmarks, and timetables. Requiring the president to report back to Congress annually on progress made in the implementation of the global poverty strategy. www.results.org/website/article.asp?id=2897www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s110-2433It seems that the young Senator has been quite busy implementing his One World Order. Can you imagine how he as president and with a Democrat controled Congress could implement:

And how about his wife? She has not been proud of America until her husband decides to run for office? Wow, you place a lot of faith in him. I have none. Why do you think they kept Laura out of the limelight? How do you think McCain's druggie will do? Really now, Obama's wife slipped up....... Typical mudslinging democratic tactics.

Lol. Well put Mink. Laura has been a statue while McCain's wife has been a total airhead. It must be nice to have no moral values. You can attack someone who has done nothing worthy of our condemnation, in an attempt to advance your candidate. You can even find quotes like these about her easily in the media, "First lady Laura Bush has had few critics during her nearly eight years in the White House. She has handled her duties with grace and charm despite her husband's nose dive in the polls." Yet, you two clowns do not hesitate to attack someone who has nothing to do with these elections. She has even come out in defense of Michelle Obama, saying she most likely misspoke. She said it in an interview with ABC, from Afghanistan, during a mission to get more aid for the country. This is actually her third trip to Afghanistan, quite an accomplishment for a statue, I think. And it is three more trips to the region then Barack or Michelle have made.

That isn't a point. Obama is a man, a Senator and sure is threatening the right wing or there wouldn't be so much mud-slinging. Sensitive aren't we? Is that why you were attacking the first lady?

It's a strange question. Worthy? Was Bush worthy when he ran? The constitution only sets a limit on age, not worthiness. If you are comparing education levels then Obama wins outright over McBush(ugh..McCain) and Bush. Redistribution of wealth. I haven't heard that argument. Not sure anyone can substantiate that statement. His plan to get our of Irag in 16 months is well laid out. It is not a cut and run. His well laid out issues are on his website. Very articulate and specific. www.barackobama.com/ He articulates his position on 28 issues. MCCain has a list of only 12 issues on his site. www.johnmccain.com/ Kinda fun to compare back and forth. Try it... If taking care of the needy, rebuilding our infrastructure, pursuing a new GI bill, health insurance for all, and ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are not your cup of tea then you should vote for more of the same. McBush(ugh...McCain)

"One World Order" is the term coined by right wing Nazi's and Skin heads in Idaho. Why would you bring that into a civil argument concerning our presidential candidates? Neither would fit that description. Hmm....Don't know how an analogy concerning "One World Order" and Obama or McCain would fit in this debate. Intellectually it just doesn't fit either of the candidates.

CEO?And Bush was? Very few Presidents have had CEO positions. Off the top of my head I can only think of one, Jimmy Carter, who ran a peanut farm as a corporation. Bush (Daddy Bush got him on)was on the Board of the Texas Rangers baseball team until the losses started mounting up so hugely he resigned. He also ran an oil company in Texas into the ground.Being president should not be compared to the dictatorial position of a profit oriented CEO. Apples and Oranges.

I've noticed that a lot of people who post here claim they are "independents," implying they are free thinkers. However they continue to paint Obama as a "socialist" and proponent of some vague "One World Order," a charge that is blatantly false. I think they're living in fantasy land. They choose to ignore the destruction that's been wrought on our country by the Bush administration, instead focusing on Obama's inexperience in Washington (that's a good thing BTW), ex-pastor, and funny sounding name.

The only way Obama is going to really push change is to vote against his own party. You can not claim to be for the people and then have a record of voting in lock step with the party, and not breaking rank on important issues. The ones who really get things done in Washington are the ones willing to put their careers on the line and vote across the isle. Like Zell Miller or John McCain. Obama is not that person, he votes the party line. And I am not the only one to see it that way either.

Of course, you can either take Obama at his word that he is trying to change Washington, or you could interpret his actions and the actions of his Campaign Foreign Policy Adviser, after Obama said, "People are out to get me because I am trying to change Washington. My passport files were looked into illegally." Of course, so were McCain's and Clinton's passport files.
But, here is the rub, guess who looked into the files? The company of which Senator Obama’s Campaign Foreign Policy Adviser is CEO of course, and it is the same company who looked into his rivals files as well, but one year earlier. And why would his Campaign Foreign Policy Adviser illegally look into Obama's passport files rather then ask Obama? Can you think of a better way to throw people off once the public finds out about the breach in the McCain and Clinton files? I certainly can't.
But hey, Obama claims he will always campaign above board, right?
