subdjoe, you'd posted the following:
Well then maybe all needy pregnant women should move to NY for such pristine care, cuz it's not here in good ole CA! Heck, maybe they can catch themselves a little TB while they're at it. Good grief!

subdjoe, I never bad mouthed palin ever. I only discuss her issues and now her religion and of course the topic is about Bristol, which TNG posted. Good try Mink, But BS. You said "If this is her idea of religion, speaking tongues and all, she shouldn't expect the majority to follow." Being dismissive and disrespctful and badmouthing her choice of religion. I guess if her idea of religion was droning in Tibetian, hanging prayer flags, bowing to golden statues, and all that, in a search for enlightenment you wouldn't have any problems, would you? (I fully expect you to haul out the leftist double standard here and get offended and pissed off at me for using your own words and tone back at you and accuse me of being disrespectful, etc. and badmouthing others choice of religion.) On other threads you have bad mouthed (or bad fingered since we communicate via keyboards) her on her looks, her experience, her hunting, he husband, and just about everything that has been released about her. Just like every other intolerant leftist with access to a keyboard.

Heck, maybe they can catch themselves a little TB while they're at it. Good grief! Or, maybe you could check a few websites for parishes here in CA and see what comes up. I was just pointing out that quite by accident I came across a list of 50 womens shelters. And I believe that on other threads I commented that people who need the services would likely have to dig a bit to find them because the bigoted eugenicists on the left (look up some of Sangers writting and that of her fellow eugenicists if you don't belive me) don't direct women to these groups. Those groups may not be the answer, but they are a start and likely have connections and references and could direct women to where they can get help. Kind of knocks the idea that there are almost no resources out there for women sideways.

and you think worshipping the fat, bald guy is much less odd, right? pleeeeeeeeze provide a source for this. obviously bristol didn't practice abstinence only. you are so perceptive. abstinance does happen to be the ONLY 100% effective form of BC. but i will again pose a question that you earlier refused to answer...... what percentage of teenagers who DO receive traditional sex education become pregnant anyway?the problem here is that liberal lefty goofballs don't believe that it is humanly possible for teenagers to refrain from knockin' boots like little bunnies. just because some teens may be giving it up out of both drawer legs doesn't mean that every other teenager will. why do liberals think that teens can't control themselves? answer: b/c most liberals have no moral compass to guide them. they get their guidance from TV and movies. essentially, the britney spears' and amy winehouse's become their guides. yikes! i thought you were pro-choice. why doesn't this mother have the right to choose what's best for her family? are you saying that men are incapable of raising kids w/o mommy around?

Give the man a kewpie doll! You hit the nail on the head there, TNG.
Just like with firearms, they know they can't trust themselves with them because they have no self discipline or self control. And, since they are obviously superior and enlightend beings they assume that us lesser types are also lacking in self control and self discipline.
Throw in the misantropic world view and self hatred that is part and parcel of the leftist mindset and you have a group that believes that the State must know better then the individual how to run our daily lives.

TNG, everything I’ve read so far shows that abstinence only programs are not as effective as sex education. I am to assume teen pregnancies would rise if abstinence only programs take over sex ed in schools based on statistics so far. I believe I read abstinence only is being taught in around 36% of public schools. I think both should be taught so that if a young person finds themselves in a situation of having sex they at least understand the importance of contraception, and not just to prevent pregnancy. There are so many additional worries: STD’s, HIV, HPV, Hepatitis B and C, on and on it goes
. I know you said you have children, and if one is a daughter I hope you will help her to understand that she is at risk of getting viruses such as HPV which can increase the odds of cervical cancer (young men can also get cancer from HPV). As much as I believe you think you can control your children with instilling morals and values, once they are teenagers hormones and peer pressure can override your influence, like it or not.
I did try to find actual statistics on sex ed/teen pregnancies and couldn’t find hard numbers to post probably because abstinence only programs aren’t the main source of sex education yet. When I have more time I will keep looking and if the numbers are out there I will post, of course feel free...

As much as I believe you think you can control your children with instilling morals and values, once they are teenagers hormones and peer pressure can override your influence, like it or not. i love it when my students help me make my point! you're exactly right. you can teach them all about contraception but when the hormones kick in it comes down to morality. at that point hopefully, your kids have a moral compass (not britney spears) to guide them to do the right thing. of course, it doesn't work all the time (bristol palin). as i've said before the only 100% effective form of birth control and STD prevention is abstinence. so, i strongly suggest we teach our kids about contraception but also strongly discourage them from being promiscous sluts (guys and girls) so that they don't run the risk of getting diseases/pregnant. lastly, we must be good role models for them and help them find other good role models (jordan sparks, not britney spears). when it comes to peer pressure, strong-willed kids will do the right thing even if it means losing a so called "friend" or not being cool. weak-willed kids with no moral compass will cave in almost everytime. p.s. i'll extend the deadline for your research assignment on teenage pregnancy. but i may have to dock you a few points on your grade.
