I stand corrected. Although, I don't think Palin even knows the difference between "real" conservatism and "compassionate" conservatism. And on that opinion, it is my considered opinion that you are dead wrong. I believe she knows exactly the difference, even though Mr. McCain is a little squishy on it. But then we've drifted the hell outta this thread, haven't we?  |

Or, re-establish our middle class? or, kill bin Laden? 1) By creating green jobs and making America a leader in alternative energy. 2) By cutting taxes for 95% of hard working Americans. 3) By withdrawing our troops from Iraq and sending them into Afghanistan and the hills of Pakistan to root out and kill Bin Laden. |

If she knew the ins and outs of the Conservative party don't you think she'd also know which newspapers or magazines she reads? Or which Supreme Court decisions she disagrees with? She is the definition of an empty suit. A $150,000 empty suit, but an empty suit nonetheless. |

Well we all know #2 has been dispelled as a myth repeatedly.
How is an individual who makes 200K NOT HARD WORKING?
It takes TONS of hard work a dedication to get up to 200K a year in most professions, that you can attain that high paying salary in.
Your idea of ditch digging as the ONLY "hard work" is tiresome.

Those making upwards of $250k are also hard working, however at that level they often have their money working for them. We've already debated the merits of giving tax cuts to the rich vs. the middle class. For 8 years the rich have been getting their tax cut. Our economy is now in turmoil. It is time to go back to the tax policy we had under Clinton, when the economy was booming. Were the rich struggling then? Not a chance.
Why would Warren Buffet be supporting Obama. If anyone, he would know how Obama's tax policies will affect America. He has said that this is what America needs right now to get out of the crisis we're in.

He knows that, with an Obama tax plan in place, more people will turn to annuities to shelter their estates and incomes. That's where he steps in and sells them insurance. Did you think that Buffet will willingly pay more taxes under an Obama tax plan? How do you think he got to be so rich in the first place? |

Please tell me how you see the government creating jobs? Is it by tax breaks for wealthy corporations? Or, is it by handing out money to people who say they will use it? America will never be a leader in alternative energy until we can get past the lawsuits that stop nuclear plants, wind farms and offshore drilling. Remember, natural gas comes from a well, too. |

Tax oil company's windfall profits. Invest the money into alt. energy infrastructure and R&D. Give tax breaks to companies who come up with alternative solutions, thereby creating jobs and weening ourselves off of oil.
