If only, if only, if only... I found myself repeating those words while watching Obama's first interview as President. If only Bush had been smart enough to try and talk with the Arab people instead of turning them against us.
Obama is a President we can be proud of. He is a true leader in every sense of the word. He will bring much peace to our violent world. Very refreshing:

Blah, blah, platitudes, blah, evasion, blah, region, blah, blah, blah, obvious observaton, blah, evasion, blah blah.
Not a damed thing new in what he said. All the stuff that he promised the Palastinians HAD and pissed away by allowing cowardly terroist thugs to operate freely in their midsts. How many clean, functioning, prosperous settlements have the Jews been hauled out of by the IDF, kicking and screaming, then watched as those settlements were turned into slums and bases for terrorist attacks? Asking for a time out, as Lynn wants, and singing a few Kumbyahs won't solve anything.

All his EO's WILL be loopholed Gitmo wont close and torture WILL continue, the manuals are having loopholes written into them as we speak. And you are literally HIGH as a kite if you TRULY believe "HE" will bring much peace the our violent world. Did you MISS his hawk Cabinet? Ahh god this is priceless......"HE" will bring peace....pffffft. Lmao lolol lolol lol..Wow that is super silly.... "HE" can make Palestine stop lobbing missiles...... "HE" can make Pakistan give up OBL "HE" can make Iran NOT have Nukes by the end of the year "HE" can keep Putin out of office and the cold war , warm.... BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA He will do NOTHING of the sort..come back to reality 2009 we're waiting.

A "true leader" would not surrender in his first week in office. This lightweight has no clue. This is STILL a world governed by the aggressive use of force. He'll ask, then plead, then beg for "peace". As Churchill pointed out, he will get war. And this man-child will probably make sure we lose,'cuz after all, we really, really suck. Just ask his wife, or his pastor.

I find it very difficult to believe your are either so obtuse or so completely ignorant of the last 40 years of world history that you actually formed the two sentences above. Please tell us you are joking.

somewhere on this forum there is another thread that asks if obama is my president. i said yes, because even though we disagree on most things he is still my president right or wrong.
after today i may change my mind.
I DON'T NEED MY PRESIDENT GIVING HIS FIRST OFFICIAL INTERVIEW TO THE GD ENEMY. I DON'T NEED MY PRESIDENT APOLOGIZING ON MY BEHALF FOR SOMETHING I DON'T NEED TO APOLOGIZE FOR. I DON'T NEED MY PRESIDENT BOWING DOWN TO THE ENEMY. I DON'T NEED ANOTHER NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN WORKING TO APPEASE THE ENEMY.
this is one of the most seditious/traitorous things i've ever seen in my life. an absolute abomination to the institution of the presidency.
move over jimmy carter there's a new kid in town.

After thousands of years of their fighting, all we are doing or have done is adding fuel to their fire. We can see the results of taking sides.
I applaud Obama for trying to listen to them, Israel and Palestine, (heck the region in general). It is fair and maybe they can do what most would deem an impossible mission, live and get along. Only a leader could attempt such a mission.

Mink, look at the recent history of the region. Israel backs off, gives up territory. They get attacked. They back off more. There are more attacks.
Remember that the new State of Israel was set up by the UN. The Arabs tried to drive the Jews, many of them whose families had been there for centuries, if not millenia, into the sea, or kill them all off. They couldn't do it and held the arab palasinians as political pawns. For decades. The arab states attacked Israel in 48, 56, 68, 73 with major military offences, and odd of at least 10 to 1. And that was fighters against the entire population. In terms of fighting forces, it was more like 40 to 1. At least. And they COULD NOT KILL OFF ALL THE JEWS AS THEY WANTED TO. So now they have changed tactics. They are still using the palastinians as pawns, but now for PR, and as living shields. They WILL NOT be satisfied until every last Jew is DEAD. Period. THAT is the goal of Hamas. That is the goal of Syria. I'm pretty sure that Saudi Arabia wouldn't mind either, but may need Israel around as a check on the other Arab states and Persian Iran. The only thing that more 'jaw-jaw' will lead to is increased attacks by thugs hiding behind women and children, or the death of every Jew in the middle east.

He is showing strength, not weakness, by talking with them. The vast majority of Arab people are not "the enemy." That is who he is skillfully bringing over to our side. Bush lost their support with his divisive agenda, his war based on false pretenses didn't help matters either.

I guess that is why we had all those attacks on American soil (embassys are American soil) during Billy boys reign - because of Pres. Bushes "divisive agenda." Tell us another one. Did you bother to LISTEN to what Steve was saying?

Obama is dumber than a bag of hammers. Another left-wing "do-gooder" about to screw it all up. Unfortunately, it is we (and our children) who will pay for his idiotic actions.
By the way, why haven't we heard anything from the anti-war crowd (Code Pink, Cindy Sheehan, etc.) on Obama's expansion of the war and incursion into Pakistan?
