Here attack these folks too then source of data proving the short life spans of homosexualsOr maybe you would like to discredit this physician JOHN R. DIGGS, JR., M.D.But, you will attack them won't you. Because it turns your belief on its head, even though there is not a single study to the contrary of these. And, you will attack them based on their belief systems, because you have no belief system. Face it, every homosexual I have known was at greater risk of death. I know two of my friends have died of AIDS. I believe others I have known over the years may have passed, but I am not sure. However, just because you do not want to believe the truth does not change it. Also, just because they live a shorter, hedonistic life style does not mean I hate them or discriminate against them. I just prefer not to be around them. LOL This is from your new study: In 1998, another study using four contemporary databases suggested that homosexual activity may be associated with a lifespan shortened by 20 to 30 years. Source: Cameron, P., Cameron, K., Playfair, WL., " Does Homosexual Activity Shorten Life? ", Psychological Reports, 1998, 83, pp. 847-66. You fail to see that it is a person's promiscuous lifestyle, not their sexual orientation, that leads to a shorter life span. Homosexuals were more promiscuous in the past due to their natural behavior being considered a societal taboo. There are plenty of examples of monogamous homosexual couples growing old together and suffering no averse affects from their homosexuality.

Very few homosexuals live in monogamous relationships even in places where they are allowed to marry. Or did you fail to read that report as well. Hmmmm?

dude, stop lying! just because gays were less accepted then is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON for them to be more promiscous. if they wanted to be monogomous they could've been. the fact remains that most of them then, just as now, didn't/don't want to be committed. they enjoy getting around.

For a couple reasons: 1) Homosexual promiscuity in the '80s was linked to the fact that gays had to live their lives underground. The mainstream acceptance of gay culture has done wonders for gay people's self esteem and acceptance of the way nature made them. 2) Due to the way in which gay people have sex, HIV is more easily transmitted from partner to partner. wow! you just provided two explicit examples that difinitively prove moondog's point. you claim that gays were promiscous because they had to be "in the closet" so to speak. why then couldn't they be monogomous in the closet? why? because they didn't want to be. as noted by moondog, a small percentage of gays wnat to live a monogomous "married" lifestyle but the vast majority do not. that majority prefer to have multiple partners thus putting them at greater risk. similarly, a heterosexual person who sleeps around has a greater risk for disease (and shorter life) than someone who doesn't. We are in partial agreement but it doesn't prove moondog's point. Moondog was trying to make the point that being homosexual is what shortens your lifespan. That's like telling a black person that being black shortens their lifespan. It is not the homosexuality (or skin color) it is the lifestyle they choose to lead. The two are not inextricably linked. Many gay people (and blacks) choose to lead safe and healthy lifestyles, resulting in long, full lives.

It absolutely is a reason for them to be more promiscuous. Having your natural sexual tendencies called a "sin" creates confusion which leads to secretive promiscuity to explore your true feelings. Ted Haggard is a perfect example.

It's not, you can not compare the two. So I will take this moment to say that you are an unabashed moron in even making the that unrelated and thoroughly discredited comparison.

Homosexuality has been an accepted life style in Northern California since the late 1970's. Or weren't you paying attention?

just to throw gas on the fire.....
blacks do have shorter lifespans. they are at greater risk for sickle cell, stroke, heart disease, etc.
but again, being black isn't a preventable lifestyle choice.

saunterelle, you are arguing from a position of weakness. Your only response so far is to cast aspersions on the people either making or presenting the reports. This, more then anything else, proves the desperation in your arguments.
Until you have a report that proves that homosexuals have equal life spans you are just floundering about in the water.

Yes, but that is mostly due to genetic predisposition, not life style choices. Though some of it is from life style choices, such as fried fatty foods.

You really don't get it? You could make the same case you are trying to make against homosexuality by saying "being black shortens your life span." Of course, it would be false, but you would argue it by pointing to statistics that show black men/women dying at a much younger age than their white counterparts. Of course it is not because they are black, it is because of the lifestyle that some choose to engage in. Like being black, homosexuality is not a "lifestyle choice." You either are or you aren't. Teaching your children to share your bigoted viewpoints may backfire one day if you find out that one of them is gay.
