If you believe that line of crap, then I have a bridge, a tunnel and an island for sale on the San Francisco Bay.
First, the only Democrat to ever cut taxes was John Fitzgerald Kennedy, in 1963 before his assassination. It went into effect in 1964 and lowered the top rate from 91% on $400,000 and above for married, $200,000 and above for single or married filing separately and $300,000 for head of house hold down to 77% on $400,000 and above for married, $200,000 and above for single, married filing separately and head of house hold.
The bottom bracket was 20% on everything up to $4,000 for married and $2,000 for single, married filing separately and head of house hold and was lowered to 16% on earnings up to $1,000 for married and 16.5% on earnings up to $2,000 for married and head of house hold and $500 and $1,000 for single or married filing separately.
The only other people to ever cut taxes since then have been Republicans. Obama will not cut taxes and he will allow the Bush tax cuts to expire. That means the bottom rate goes from 10% to 15%, a 50% increase right there, on the poorest people in this country.
It cost like three times the amount received in revenues through the income tax for Americans to calculate and file their taxes. That is plain wrong.
Not even half of the money this country runs on comes from income taxes. A well regulated and thought out sales tax would increase revenues and provide a constant stream of money to the government.
Not to mention that it is immoral and wrong to take a persons money from them without their consent. Virtually every new worker is shocked at the size of their paychecks once they see the reality of payroll taxes. And, the very thought of payroll taxes was appalling to our founding fathers, because they knew that there are better, more fair ways to raise the money.
And, I do not want handouts. I prefer to earn my own keep. It is plain wrong to make your way through life on the handouts of others. Or to take the hard earned money of an American to give to someone else. THAT ABOVE ALL ELSE IS AGAINST THE FOUNDING PRINCIPLES OF THIS COUNTRY.
So, Democrats have, for all intents and purposes, compromised the very core principals that America was founded on with the creation of the Income Tax. And that is why I do not trust them.
