Progressives got off their butts and started doing some of the work in communities that Pres. Bush had called for time and again.
Even Pelosi got in on the photo op filling care packages for our troops in Iraq. Of course, she will never do it again. And I expect that after today 99 44/100ths of the progressives who were out cleaning up the streets, etc. will go back to expecting the State to do everything for them.

Subdjoe, can you find a link where Bush encouraged the country to honor MLK Jr. by service to our communites? I don't recall one.
TNG, if you expect a sudden change to end our current issues, that will be called a miracle. Bush has set this country back so that the change will have to be gradual, but it will be persistent with a tenacious effort.
You guys care to join?

No, not specifially TRDMLKJ, but he called time and again for private citizens and private entities to get out and take care of what needs taking care of. He was roundly condemned by the left.

Well I'M looking forward to my case of Bubble Up and a few cans of Rainbow Stew. Maybe I'll hop a car to the Big Rock Candy Mountain to enjoy them. After I get my check that is. Yeah, "He maketh war to cease in all the world, He breaketh the bow, and snappeth the spear in sunder." CNN seems to have been running almost non-stop exaltations of him for a week. I can't wait to see him walk across the Potomac.

I say it was FDR who set this country so far back. That is why when they talk about Job Growth in this country they all ways exclude Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Because the job growth under even George W. Bush was way greater then under FDR, the President who morphed politics into what we have today.

Got any links? Why must you all ways call someone a liar? Too lazy to find your own links confirming or refuting what was said?

You know that liberalism breeds ignorance, this is the truth Mink, look at this link from 2001. And remember what all your type did. We were all called on to volunteer. I have taken a job that is in that spirit. But people who hated Bush have continued to spread their hatred and damage this nation. And you sit here in your blissful ignorance and deny with words like, "Got any Links?" You are shameful. You represent everything that is wrong with this nation in those three little words. They sound just like, "What's in it for me?" How about a better country. What ever will you do when the nostalgia of bashing Bush wears off?

Nostalgia hell.... as of 9:06 AM PT today Bush Derangement Syndrome became utterly and forever irrelevant. As of that moment in time anything and everything becomes the fault of Barack and the progressives.
That is, after all, the standard they set in 2001 when Bush took office. And somehow I have to imagine that they aren't going to want to play by the same rule book.
But this is their day and the nation's day. But tomorrow their sleeves better be rolled up and their hands ready to work... because tomorrow the gloves come off.

Why must you all ways call someone a liar? Too lazy to find your own links confirming or refuting what was said? I gotta jump in to defend Mink on this one. She is ALWAYS asked to provide links to back up her claims so I see nothing wrong with her doing the same. No way is she alleging "liar" at all. I just don't see that.

You are correct, she is a bit challenged on her knowledge of history, so I should not assume that she is blatantly lazy. Not everyone does as I do and looks into the points people try to make, like with Social Security or Presentations of a Presidential Legacy by a yellow journalist. I should remember that I am someone who reads a great deal on the subjects I talk about, not everyone is inclined to do so.
Which reminds me. Does anyone want to offer up some reading on the Lincoln era of politics and economics for me? I need to see how it fits in with the destructive policies implemented by FDR.
